So, I started using My fitness Pal just over two weeks ago. I have gained and lost weight many times on my journey thus far. Every time I have been successful it has been through cutting calories and exercise. I know this is the way to go. Somehow I have always fallen off the proverbial wagon. I have never been under 190 pounds as an adult female. Although I've used diet and exercise to lose weight in the past I have rarely counted calories, and certainly never like this. I have resisted Weight Watchers for whatever reason, but when a friend told me about My Fitness Pal I decided to try it. I have been doing martial arts for the last two years, and for the last 6 months I have been meeting a friend at the gym in the morning for cardio before work. Still, I was slowing gaining weight. I will be 45 this year and have diabetics in my family. I have one kidney because I'm a kidney donor and cannot afford to get diabetes. So far my lab tests are fine and I am not even pre-diabetic, but I cannot rely on that. This has to work for me. I usually lose weight quickly at first and then things will settle down and go more slowly. So far I've lost 11 pounds which is much more than one is supposed to lose in the first two weeks, but I'm grateful for the quick weight loss burst anyway. It's encouraging. So far I'm nearly obsessed with entering every exercise, as well as food and fluid intake. I look forward to this journey. It would be icing on the cake to meet others who are working toward the same goals!
