Thinking I am now beginning to understand "skinny-fat"

Although I would not even *think* of classifying myself as skinny, weightlifting has made a change in my body that helps me to understand "skinny-fat".
Before Thanksgiving and maybe even shortly before Christmas, I reached my lowest weight since beginning MFP. I was registering around 225. WOW! Great, right? Not so much....Here's why...
I hit a plateau and didnt budge, then during the holidays I started an upward climb topping out at 234. I knew that I was still doing my exercise, still *kinda* watching my intake, however was drinking sweetened coffee WAYYY TOO MUCCH...okay...so...
Decided that I needed to break that habit. I worked at it and did so-so...enter a friend that said, you should try PM Power with me at the gym...okay...yeah let's do that...my cardio seems wasted so maybe if I add something and trick my muscles...
a couple of weeks later, I started to notice that my work outs at the gym included some of the weight training I had been learning at classes...hmm...okay...kept that up...got very serious about the coffee...stayed focused and continued my daily cardio. Now doing weights also, every other day...and I FINALLY got below 230 just this morning!!
Thing is, this 229 is far better than my previous 225...I feel better, smaller, more agile...just better all round!
That's my story...weights make a difference...use them...pick things up. put things down, repeat...You will be glad you did and you will leave "skinny-fat" in the DUST!!

I'm working on it. I got down to a size 2 at 117, but still had some flab. I gained 12ish pounds at Christmas, a teeny bit of muscle, mostly fat. I'm working to get rid of the belly fat. Lifting heavy. I'm jst trying to get my diet back in check. It's been rough for me lately!0 -
Yes, I am big on weights and cardio like HIIT.. in my profile pic, there's day 1 to day 40 (from Jan 1) just from doing 30DS and eating right. I've never had results like this before. Definitely cut down on fat as well, lost over 6% BF in a month0
