    I usually do the cooking on the weekends. Tomorrow I am making lima beans and hamhocks (for flavor, I'm not going to eat the ham) and cornbread, and caeser salad.

    She likes making sloppy joe's too and I can't stand them.

    Oh my I feel sorry for you that this is even a problem :noway: have y'all always eaten Hamburger Helper on a regular basis???
    If so it maybe a little harder, but I would suggest you offering to make dinner there are TONS of website with healthy recipes AND this way you can help your wife's calorie intake without actually saying, Hey chubs we're eating light" :laugh: (ok that was said in total jest)

    If HH is a must for dinner then go with a HUGE salad & 1 serving size portion of the HH.

    Telling her she needs to join you won't do anything but hurt her feelings (TRUST ME)
    I ask my hubby all the time if he wants to join me for a walk,
    he says no
    I say OK maybe next time with a smile.

    I do most the cooking in my house & will say that him & the kiddos have taken to liking the healthier cooking. In fact I don't buy whole milk at all just almond milk now cause they were drinking my milk. Also no more poptarts since my kids prefer the Special K pastry crisp. My family always loved fresh fruit but I didn't buy it daily...now I do

    Even if she is not willing to change the fact that she loves you should allow her to support you changing, of course my family has been very positive about me making life long changes so it has made this seem easier than I thought.
