35 Days exactly until Bikini.

Okay, Im going on spring break and I have 35 days to look as good as possible. Please help me with any tips you have to losing this weight! I recently purchased a fitbit and have been trying to do as much with that as possible. I stay within a 1200-1500 calorie diet a day. (Injured my toe this past week so wants able to be too active) What worked for you in a short amount of time? Running? Biking? Elliptical? ..... I feel like I have lots of muscle under all this fat and once i lose this fat I will be sooo happy!

It took me a while to believe it, but my diet was the breaking point in my journey to weight loss. I work out 5-6 days a week, sometimes for 1 and a half to 2 hours. I still wasn't losing. It wasn't until I bought a digital scale and put my measuring cups to work that I started to see results. Eating out (even salads <-- found this out the hard way) can be harmful because of proportion and dressing. I also do as much lifting as I do cardio. Cardio is great for burning calories in the moment, but building muscle will help brun more calories when you're sedentary. On days where I'm short on time, I'll split my workout to 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes weight/resistance.

Trying to "lose as much as possible" isn't the best way to approach it. Aim to "look as good as possible" instead. There's a difference.

Weight lost rapidly tends to be water weight and a higher percentage of lean mass. You'll get more bang for you buck if you eat at an appropriate deficit for the amount of weight you have to lose (which would be one pound a week) and get regular exercise especially strength training.

It's better to lose 5 pounds that looks like 10 pounds than lose 10 pounds that looks like 5.

For example, in two months time, eating maybe a teensy bit below maintenance, I only lost a little over 2 pounds, but it sure made a difference: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/744311-free-weights-vs-machines-holy-crap

Listen to LorinaLynn. She is wise, and knows what she is talking about. This is My "FITNESS" Pal, not My "loseweightquicknomatterhow" pal. Good luck, and have fun at Spring Break no matter what! :smooched: :flowerforyou:
