Runners... and knee pain between runs?

I'm a runner - I log in about 15-20 miles a week usually. And like most runners, I do have one tender knee that has bothered me for about a year. The odd thing is that it only hurts when I don't run. If I have too much of a stretch of days between my runs, I get a little nagging pain. The second I run, the pain goes away for a few days... anyone else??

When you are running your endorphins are probably numbing the pain a fair amount.
Are you a heel striker (do you land on your heels when running)? I would hesitate to run with knee pain if I were.0 -
Strongly suggest the book Anatomy of a Runner. Most runners knee pain is from weaknesses in the hips and not firing the glutes correctly. Work on these and you will probably get rid of your knee pain.0
