Hello everybody. I read that Heart rate monitors aren't very accurate when doing strength training when it comes to calories burned.
I am planning on starting to eat back my calories that I burn during my exercises as close as I can get them to the MPF recommendations because I am worried about excess skin if I lose too much weight, too fast  (This is not a advertisement or an "endorsement" for the pump program)
Les Mill's Pump (copied from http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/les-mills-pump-workout.do) states the following:
"THE REP EFFECT™ is the secret behind incredible body transformations all over the world. Why? Because unlike traditional strength workouts that use heavy weights and bulk you up, THE REP EFFECT™ uses lighter weights at a higher rate of repetition so you can get leaner—faster. This intense training technique accelerates your heart rate, burning up to 1,000 calories per workout and torching more fat to reveal gorgeous muscles and a sleek, sculpted body—fast."
According to my heart rate monitor (don't know how accurate it is to tell the truth budget SCHWINN hrm. I am unemployed with limited income) I burn anywhere from 500 calories to 1100 calories depending on which exercise DVD I chose.
Should I trust the HRM's calories burn portion from these exercises and eat accordingly or should I under report the amount of calories that I burn to MPF?
