most important, calories or macros in balance?

hey guys :) i was wondering if it is most important/effective to hit the correct ratio of your macros (carbs, protein, fat) and be under your calorie goal, or reaching your calorie goal and not having the correct balance in your macros.
any responces would be greatly appreciated. x

    Well if you generally hit your macro's you will hit your calories. But calories are for weight loss, macro's are for recomposition (maintaining muscle and cutting fat)
