I use artificiall sugars such as equal and have been told they are actually worse for the body then real sugar.

I've heard that equal=spartame, it does have something negative related to brain cells or something....
As far as splenda=sucralose havent heard anything bad... so I use that instead of sugar..0 -
there are a lot of studies that show there are. you can actually get aspartame poisoning over time. that can be quite scary, but the amount of it that you have to consume to get the poisoning is pretty big. i use stevia for coffee and such but I do have a diet pepsi every here and there. few times a month maybe. everything in moderation.0

Yeah...I figure better safe than sorry, so I've switched over to Splenda...and stopped all soda...period. Hopefully I'll save some $$$ too. :happy:0

I can't do artificial sweeteners. I've tried splenda, and trivia, and only ever used in my coffee. I've only used a tiny bit of it for my coffee as well, only about a teaspoon or two's worth. I noticed that while on them I was nauseous, especially when I worked out every day that I had it, when I stopped using it, I didn't get nauseous. In my opinion, I don't see a problem with them if you only use a tiny bit, but even that much makes me sick, so I just use some real sugar. Yeah, it is more calories, but I'd rather take more calories over being sick. Not saying they are healthy or unhealthy, I've heard that real sugar is better for you and actually breaks down faster than artificial sweeteners. Just saying what I've personally experienced from using them.0

i have read mixed things on artificial sweeteners. some say they are linked to cancer or other diseases, others say they are fine.
ive never been the biggest fan on artifial things, i like to use nectresse or stevia to sweetned coffee, tea, etc. ill use it from time to time but im not a big diet soda drinker or anything. i also stay away from them bc they are a huge trigger for my bladder disorder and can cause pain/blood etc so no thanks on that lol. im curious to see what others say0 -
I use honey often, rarely use white sugar, and never purposefully ingest chlorocarbons like sucralose.0

Aspartame (Equal) is horrendous for our neurological functions... etc.
http://search.mercola.com/search/pages/Results.aspx?k=aspartame
Sucralose (Splenda) eradicates our beneficial intestinal flora ...etc.
http://search.mercola.com/search/pages/results.aspx?k=splenda
So it is a lose lose situation.
Best replacements are:
for no calorie option: pure Stevia
for clean eating/living option (but has calories) : raw honey or organic sugar0
