skinny fat question.

i just want to clear something up i have researched on the body type skinny fat cause i suffer from it, and i wanna know if in order to loose the skinny fat look i need to eat a moderately high fat and protein diet and keep my carbs low to loose this look. And also if you should train hard in means of weight training and eat around maintenance to shape out.

Skinny fat is not a body type. It is having the health problems of an obese person because of poor quality diet. It has nothing to do with increasing lean mass or a low carb diet.

You should heavy lift and continue on a small deficit or at maintenance until it goes away. It will.

I would experiment with eating a surplus while lifting heavy for 3 months and see what happens. When I say surplus, I don't mean junk food.

You can see what it takes for your body to build muscle and see how you like that type of workout. See how your body responds to lifting and how that makes you feel.

After 3 months you will have learned a few things and you can adjust from there to suite your goals.

^^^ This. However, you said " train hard in means of weight training" - - getting away from skinny-fat is not about trying crazy hard. Just incorporate a reasonable strength training program like Stronglifts 5x5.

@windycity; Skinny fat means you aren't overweight, but you are not "fit." For instance:

Eating more protein than what? Eating protein doesn't synthesize muscle protein. You could eat 100% protein and it wouldn't build your muscles.

Shoot for 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight - that's an aggressive goal but I see that you're an 18 year old man. You've got so much testosterone in your system that you should be able to eat as much (healthy food) as you can fit inside you, and if you lift weights too, you'll pack on muscle like a monster.

    LIFT!
