Confused about bacon

This morning my husband cooked 2 slices of Maple Leaf reduced salt bacon for me. Nice hot & crispy!
I'm confused on how to log this however. The stats on the packaging indicate for 2 slices uncooked. Surely the values change when the bacon has been fried, yes? Or am I wrong and should just log the values for uncooked slices?
TIA!
Dani

Use the package....Don't know too many people that eat raw bacon.0

Use the pack count for raw and add oil or butter whatever used for the frying0

I dont know how cooking bacon would change calories unless you add something to it. I could be wrong though0

Always go by what the package says...0

Nothing added to cook the bacon. It produces so much grease while cooking, I can't imagine adding butter or oil to it.
I thought since so much grease comes out of the bacon while frying it, the values would change. I always fry it until it's crispy and you can snap it apart (but not burnt!), place it on paper towels and pat the excess grease off.0 -
When I eat bacon I count the whole slice even though there is fat left in the pan. There are entries in the database for bacon fat. If you are really worried about it you could measure the remaining fat and enter it as a negative amount in your diary. I use the grease entry for when I cook things in that gorgeous leftover bacon fat :bigsmile:0

Consider it the same0

Coincidentally, I had bacon as part of my breakfast for the first time in eons today. I bought a package of Oscar Mayer fully cooked bacon.... I cooked it (even though it's already cooked) to get it crispier and it still produced a nice little puddle of grease in the pan. The package says 80 calories for 3 slices! It was awesome!
And I agree... go by what the package tells you for nutrition numbers.0 -
Crisp bacon is 45 calories per slice. You don't count the fat if you didn't eat it, right?0

OMG who ADDS oil or butter to cook bacon!??!?!?0 -

Ok, thanks everyone. Values on the package it is!0 -
The reason it says uncooked it so you can weigh it prior to cooking it to get as accurate nutrition information as possible.0

I asked the same question about the same brand of bacon awhile back In Canada, packaging uses the raw value of food including the grease. It is the same for ground beef. Obviously we don't drink the grease that comes off the meat lol. I go by the USDA count of 45 cals per piece of pan fried bacon.0
