My experiment with weight loss

I have succeeded in dieting multiple times getting to goal of a normal weight and gaining the weight right back multiple times. This time I decided to try to lose weight, but do an experiment. I figured out how many calories i had to eat (per mfp calculator if i wanted to lose 2 pounds per week (which was my goal and of course only 1200 calories), how much i had to eat to lose only 1.5 pounds, 1.0 pounds, .5 pounds and maintain. I looked at all these goal calories and decided that i can switch it up as needed as long as i never go under the 1200 calories but at the same time never go over maintaince calories no matter what the situation. I also knew that most days i'd be able to eat 1200 calories without a problem as when i work I forget about food until i get home at around 5 pm. I weigh myself every morning. The interesting part is that on the days i eat more I lose anywhere from .3 to .7 pounds. Sometimes when i eat only the 1200 calories I'd not lose or even gain a little (.3 to .7). I reset my calories to 1400 calories and eat 1400 calories daily and allow myself to go under if i just don't feel like eating but most days i try to eat 1400 calories, still allowing myself to eat up to maintaince if I need the calories due to hunger, social situations or just feel like eating something as a treat. I'm making it a habit to log and stay within a certain calories. I'm allowing myself to eat treats as long as i size it up, count the calories and learn to eat just one. I'm no longer just eating what i want without thinking and so far it is working. My biggest goal is to be able to eat this way the rest of my life and to continue losing. I no longer really care if it takes me one year or two years to lose this weight the most important thing this time for me is to keep it off. It is most important to make good habits that last a life time. I know I will not be able to never eat a piece of cake while everyone around me is enjoying some. If I'm at a birthday party and want one piece of cake I just switch my day from losing 2 pounds per week to losing 1.5 pounds per week and the big surprise so far for me is that I keep losing the 2 pounds per week. I've lost 21 pounds so far and have 79 pounds to go to get to a normal weight. So, I'm about 1/4 of the way away from my goals of getting to a normal weight. I now know I'll never be able to eat as much cake as i want, but i can eat just one small piece with a cup of coffee. The coffee fills me up enough to make one piece enough. I also have learned to savor the piece i'm eating and enjoying it, really enjoying it. Making that one piece last as long as 2 or 3 pieces lasted before.
