This is my first time posting......
I was hoping to get some opinions on how many calories might be in homemade veg/beef soup. I tried looking it up, but found everything from 106 to 213 for one cup. I know ingredients play a big part so here is how we make it, and if anyone else makes something similar please let me know how many calories you count for it.
We cook a lean roast (usually from the annual half beef we get)
I use frozen tomato juice from my homegrown tomatoes and the left over juice from roast for the base. ( We let the roast water cool in fridge or (garage if cold) to let the fat congeal in order to remove easily before adding veggies)
All veggies are frozen except potatoes and carrots (corn, green beans, peas, carrots, potatoes)
Hubby adds some hot sauce along with some other seasonings.
This makes a HUGE stock pot full and sooooo delicious.
I just had a bowl for lunch and want to count it a accurate as I can.
THANKS ALL

Well if you measure everything that goes into the pot you will get a very accurate result.
When you use completely raw and unprocessed ingredients, and build up your food from scratch from those, the calorie values for all that (oil, butter, meat, vegetables etc) can be found on the internet, not just on MFP, so that will give you pretty much the right values.
EDIT: you only need to do this once if you always prepare it the same way. You measure the entire pots calorie values, then you can divide it for 1 serving that you usually eat, and save it under "My Meals" here on MFP.
You can use that entry every time you eat your soup.0
