There are no foods that you need to eliminate unless if they are trigger foods for you. For example there are a certain few things that for me a frenzy takes over and I WILL eat a whole box of and cannot stop. As long as you are under your calories/goals for the day I don't buy into needing to eliminate anything! If you burn 1800 calories a day and eat a 500 calorie candy bar and 1300 calories in other things there is no reason why you shouldn't still lose weight at the end of the week.0

Yep.
I don't buy good, crusty bread because I WILL eat the whole damn loaf over the course of the day. But chocolate is not a problem for me. I can eat one small Dove dark chocolate square and be fine. But bread? Lord, help me! :laugh:0 -

Go to the bakery and buy a good, crusty roll. Instant portion control!0 -
I don't think you need to eliminate anything, but you might consider implementing substitutions. For instance - go with whole wheat breads and pastas instead of refined wheat breads and pastas. Go for brown or long grain rice instead of white rice. You get more nutritional bang for your caloric buck!0

Another bread lover here! And I live in Paris, so I'm surrounded by bakeries with good bread.
Here is what I do: I buy a baguette - a crusty one too - I eat one portion and then I immediately cut it into slices and put them in the freezer. When I want some bread, I heat it in the toaster (on "reheat" function), so it's hot, crispy outside and soft in the inside.
This way, I don't eat one baguette at once
I don't think there should be any forbidden food, but as somebody said, I don't buy certain things because I know I won't be able to moderate myself...0
