Hey guys! I am the new dood, well I guess you can say I'm a giant nerd who never worked out in his life....well ok that's a lie I use to ride a bike a lot but, due to financial issues and getting my bike stolen 2 years ago I really haven't done anything. The reason for this Now (I'm 27 will be 28 this month) I love going to conventions such as the Anime Expo, Comic con and I really want to "Cosplay" or dress up for some of you. Not only because of that but I noticed I'm just WAY to big especially in the chest/stomach area.

I'm 5'7 and 308 pounds..I said to myself yesterday...enough is enough and BAM I'm here...I start doing push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, lots of stretching, Squats, and Walking for 45 to 90 mins, im in the process of getting a Loaner bike from my neighbor so I can progress further then just doing Walking /

My Question for you guys I got done working out for now today, but why is Exercise at a - 438? I'm really don't understand all these Negatives, Plus signs...MATH/Number isn't my forte lol, so I need to be educated a little more on what I need to do if someone is welling to help.

If you are looking at the daily summary at the top of your home page, it just means that 438 calories have been taken from the total calories you have eaten, leaving you with a net total, ie: calories eaten (put into your body) - calories earned (through exercise) = what you are left with. In other words, if you hadn't done the exercise you would have 438 fewer calories that you could eat today, to stay within goal.

^ What she said. You earned an additional 438 calories to eat.

Feel free to add me as a friend. All are welcome.

Welcome fellow nerd. I'm pretty new here also. My advise is to check these forums often. Lots of good info here.

welcome!! and yes, as everyone has said, those are the 'extra' calories you've 'earned' with exercise. Also, make sure you eat! even if you don't want to eat all of those extra calories, at least eat back half of your calories, if you don't eat enough you wont lose weight. That has been one of the hardest things for me! but it makes a huge difference.
  • huh didn't know you can gain cal whil exercising...crazy human body 0.0
