Really need some advice

I've asked before but could really do with some advice from people that have been there and done it. So here goes, started at 147lbs, lost about 10lbs, goal weight is 119lbs. Started with 1200 calories a day, with very little exercise and after a lot of reading about the best and healthiest way to do things I've increased my net calories to 1400 and started the 30day shred. Just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere fast. For you numbers people BMR is 1414 and TDEE is 1697. Please if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Well, for starters, you're netting below your BMR....BMR is coma calories, and you are definitely not in a coma, so you could stand to eat a bit more. Are you sure your TDEE is only 1697? Seems low. Double check your numbers and make sure they're correct. Great info and links to calculators here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
Using that topic's info, I've been eating at a 15% cut from my TDEE for nearly a year with fabulous results.0 -

You shouldn't be getting anywhere fast. Safe and healthy weight loss is slow. You probably should actually bump your calories up a bit more...you're still below your BMR. Your calculated TDEE seems really low as well...
Also remember that if you're using the MFP method, you should eat back exercise calories burned...when I was doing the MFP method I ate back about 80% of my exercise calories burned...I left 15-20% on the table to account for BMR burn during a particular session. I've lost 25 lbs in about 4 months.0 -
Another good site: http://www.muscleandstrength.com/tools/bmr-and-daily-calorie-calculator.html for TDEE calculations. I eat 20% below TDEE and above BMR and it works.0

If you set your daily activity at sedentary then you are miscalcuting your TDEE. Very..and I mean very few people should be at sedentary. If you workout twice a week that automatically moves you into Lighty active...3-5 times is moderate. I would move up your activity level and I guarantee your TDEE goes up. If you have HRM, wear for an entire day and see how many calories your actually burning. Take it off if you workout for that day.....just to get a natural TDEE. Then go back to wearing it during workouts.0

Like I say, I've read until I can't read anymore, I know that it's not an overnight thing and when I say fast I mean I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere at all. 20% below my TDEE is below my BMR, which is why I set it at 1400, but as I say don't know how much closer I can get to my TDEE and actually be losing weight. From my calculations if I eat 1500 calories ill lose a pound every 25 days.0

Putting my activity level to 1-2 times a week, puts my TDEE up to 1945 so 20% below that is 1560. Which isn't far off where I'm eating at the moment.0

If you want to be successful, get rid of the word "fast."
Fast weight loss = failure.
I couldn't agree more with this comment, and get rid of any processed foods in your food regiment. I'm not going to call it diet because in my books that is nearly as bad as a plethora of other four-letter words... I consider my change in food choices to be a lifestyle change. I''m glad I have made it and bit by bit it will bear fruit. Just make sure you are not putting your body into "starvation mode".0 -

Like I said it's not about fast, but for me eating healthily is always a chore, I'm very busy so not going for the quick easy option is very hard. But I'm trying0 -
You don't have a lot to lose so it is going to be a slow process, just stay consistant.0

You don't have to "eat healthy" to lose weight. I lost a lot of weight just eating junk. It's about the calories. As you lose weight your blood sugar will improve, risk for cardiovascular disease will go down, triglycerides etc... your health will improve as you "lose weight" not necessarily by "eating healthy"
That is very encouraging, I have no issues cutting calories, I could eat one junky meal a day and not be hungry, but I am actively trying to change my mindset on that, as I don't feel it is good for my overall health. I have lowered my calories previously I have now put it up to 1500 calories to see if that kick starts things. And I am wearing a hrm today to see how many calories I am actually burning in a day. I know there is not a magic formula, im keeping my calories below my TDEE and moving as much as possible and just playing trial and error with the rest.
Thanks for your advice0
