Thanks MFP...processed snacks are on the way out.

A few weeks ago, I blogged about the cost of all those processed, low calorie snacks. So many wonderful folks recommended that I look at healthier, less expensive options. I felt that it was only appropriate for me to let you know that I have been making some changes, based on your advice.

Since that blog, I have added 100 calorie raw veggie snacks (5 stalks of celery, 12 baby carrots and 7 radish),100 calorie sandwich baggies of Rice Chex, Babybel cheese and cheese wedges with low calorie muffins. I also added raw and cooked apples.

Yes, I am still eating those processed, low calorie snacks; but I am not replacing them. Once those snacks are gone, most of them will not be on my shopping list again. I may keep a few...just as treats, when I crave chocolate or salt. However, they will NOT be 40% of my food plan as they were in the past.

You...my MFP sisters and brothers have been a real God sent. Thanks for caring and sharing wisdom with me.

While I never replied to you earlier, chocolate is OK but like everything else in moderation. I still have my chocolate, but good 85% or more cocoa chocolate - Hersey's kisses don't fall into that category and if you do a bit of reading you will find that good chocolate can do some pretty magical stuff.

And you are right about the processed stuff that all has to go out the window.

I still toss a few processed snacks in. I mean...who can give up Grace's Best Sunflower Cookies! I mean...come on, they are the best EVER!

But anyway, great job! Keep it up!

The two 100 calorie snacks that will probably stay in my in my cupboard will be the Rite Bites Fudge Covered Pretzels and the Kellogg's Blueberry Crisps. The Rite Bite Pretzels give me a taste of chocolate and touch of salt. The Blueberry Crisps are a wonderful treat with a cup of tea.

As for the other 12+ snacks in the cupboard, maybe my hubbie can help me eat them.
