Treadmills

Is there a way to enter more that a hour on the treadmill? One gym that I go to allows me to enter any amount of time, and the other only allows me to enter up to 1 hour.

I would think that most every machine is different, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to get a specific answer. But you can always start a new timer on the machine, make a note of that in your head, and enter the cycles separately into the database here if you need to. Or use a calculator and add up how many minutes out of each cycle you were at a specific speed or something.

Are you able to enter distance instead? If you were to enter 10 miles say - then it would go for as long as it would take one to reach the 10 miles.

I cannot enter a distance. For now, I enter 60 and then start again. The other gym, I enter what I want and keep running

Some gyms actually have rules about how long you can spend on one machine. That gym might intentionally place an hour-long limit on the amount of time you can run. But I suppose you can keep starting again to keep running and no one will know the difference ;)

This was my initial thought as well.

My gym has not time limit, which is awesome, but the machine still only lets you put in 60 minutes for the longest time. I think it just comes down to the individual machine or model.

Exercise equipment has a "configuration mode" where things like total duration can be set. So, club management can set whatever time limit they want.

There are also differences between manufacturers as to how machines can be configured. Some will actually go to 99 minutes, and some newer models can be set up with a "marathon mode" that allows unlimited duration. You either have to convince management to change the setup, or learn the code to access the setup mode.
