I juice quite often with the South Beach Juicer (you can get in on Amazon for a reasonable price). In order to calculate the calories I go in and make a new recipe. When you search foods to add you basically type in homemade juice or fresh juice. Example, homemade strawberry juice. Then you add how much you juiced. Just continue to add the fruits or veggies that you juiced in the recipe. It's fairly easy to calculate. I have a hard time getting in my serving of fruits for the day, but I don't have a problem when I juice them. You still get all the nutrients that the fruits and veggies have to offer. One thing I would suggest is immediately drinking the juice. When it sits over time the juice will naturally lose some of the key nutrients. One tip for you to keep in mind: Apples will naturally sweeten just about any kind of juice you make.

I have a juicer. We did it for a while. It just was kind of a pain the the butt to do and clean up. A lot of what you get rid of is what helps you feel full. Kudos to those that can do this.

Nope. If I want fruits and veggies, I just eat them.

Yes and I love it. The trick is,though,it has to be mostly veggie. I do a 3 day cleanse several times a year and juice several times a week. If I want apple juice I make it myself. There are several juice blends already in the MFP database.
    Good Luck!
  • There are so many benefits to juicing. Not everyone will agree with it, especially ppl big on protein. It is very hard to stick with if your doing straight juicing for all your meals. [U can do all meals juice or for example do breakfast and lunch juice and eat a nice healthy dinner, esp chicken or something high in protein n low in fat]
I did the juice fast for 16days straight a few years ago and lost 15lbs, I did not gain any of it back as most skeptical ppl will tell u u will. My skin was tighter and clearer than ever and my hair was healthier n I had so much energy. I have yet to have the willpower to do it again. The longest I did since then was 5days n I went down 5lbs. I did it and a lot of walking. And stuck to mostly veggie juices to keep the sugar levels down. Hoping to attempt it again once I'm not preggo anymore.
I don't know how to track it on here but I think the advice u got on that sounds pretty good.
