How did you survive the after the w/loss honeymoon period?

When I first began to lose weight, within 4 weeks I'd lost 7 kilograms, I thought it was too easy. Little did I know once real life set in and I actually began intense exercise the scale victories would become very few and far between even though I have the fat to lose.
How did you survive this? Did you take measurements, pictures, etc? How did you keep going when you felt as though you weren't getting something back for all the hard work you were putting in?
For me, I'm ditching the scales and taking measurements.
Excuse the extra 'the' in the title, typo!

its not really an issue for me. scales. meh. yes its nice to see them move but i focus on my NSV's and the scales are icing. I'm steadily losing there too, but even when I'm not, I cope.
Just learn to tell yourself that it's no big deal. Then listen to yourself.0 -

Thanks for the advice! (:0 -
Scale moved just fine for me from the start to 75 lbs gone (still moves fine when either bulking or cutting). Longest I went without a new low weigh in was 5 days during my initial cut.
If the scale isn't moving, either your calorie estimating isn't very good or your goals need adjusting.0 -
take measurements; it's really helpful!0

I weigh / measure everything I eat and add it all into my diary so I don't know what else to do if it's my calories!0 -
It seems like the exercise shows up more in the measurements or smaller clothes. But it is frustrating at times to not see the scale weight go down. I just make sure I am doing everything right and know that if I am patient that eventually it will show on the scale. My weight seems to come off in chunks, at times I have had to wait three weeks to see it. Quitting is not an option.0

Thank you, I really appreciate this!
I hope it's the same for me.0 -
I stopped focusing on weight loss as a goal per se. I focus on eating better and getting exercise-the rest takes care of itself. I can't control exactly when or how the weight will come off, but I can control what I eat and how much I exercise. So I focus on what I can control and let the weight loss happen. It has. Meanwhile, I'm not worried about why I lost 2 lbs last week and nothing this week even though I did "everything right." I also am not doing anything that I don't plan to do forever. So I have no end date (except death). So I just keep going as I plan to for the rest of my life-and I let the pounds come off whenever they feel like it, and I'm perfectly happy with that approach.0

I never had a honeymoon period. It's been hard from day one. You ought to be glad you had one at all.0

Don't worry...people who have never plateaued tend not to believe in them. They are the exception rather than the rule.0
