I am a 37 year old wife, mother, healthcare worker, and born-again vegan (after a stint with vegetarianism). I fell into poor eating habits and packed on about 25-30 unwanted pounds in the past year and a half. You don't have to eat meat to be unhealthy. Baked goods, bad carbs, and too much fat/sodium were my downfalls.

I started this year off right with a resolution to get back on the wagon. I start eating good, clean food, dusting off my large collection of workout DVDs, and tracking my progress through My Fitness Pal. This app has really kept me on track and aware of all the things I never paid too much attention to like calorie intake and calories burned during exercise. My hubby just got me a Polar heart monitor/fitness trainer for Valentine's Day too:) I've lost 8.2 pounds so far and I have so much more energy and motivation than before!
