Can't get back on the path...HELP!

I started here May 2011 and rocked it. Lost 42 of the 70 I wanted to lose and then BAM a pulled muscle and I lost my routine.
I was genuinely hurt (bad muscle spasms just sitting). I took a break and I was ok with it because for the first time, I was maintaining and I wasn't at goal but I was in a happy place. I felt good about myself and my body. I maintained for about 6-9 months. I was bbusy with my daughter graduating and getting ready to move to college anway so it worked well. I knew at any time I could pick back up finish the last 30 lbs.
Well that was when I was maintaining. Now I'm not. I've gone over that threshold and have GAINED 20 lbs back. And I can't find that mental edge that got me started that first time. I've had that talk with myself. The one scolding me for basically ruining all those days I sweating running 5ks on the treadmill and doing all 90 Days of Supreme 90 Day with dilligence. Suffering through the workouts I didn't enjoy all that much. It was all for NOTHING because it's all turned to flab. The clothes I enjoyed picking out are now painful reminders of what I threw away.
Any tips from those that have come back from this and start over? I truly believe that starting is the hardest part in this journey. I know what I need to do...it's getting my mind on the same page that I'm really struggling with.
I plan on giving up soda starting tomorrow. (only because I had one today). I truly believe that this is a trigger food for me. If I drink only tea/water I find that my "cravings" for bad foods over good drops dramatically. I also plan on getting active on these boards again. Last time it helped me stay focused.
Any other tips/suggestions are more than welcome!!!! If anyone wants to be the buddy that rides my butt like a trick pony I'm ok with that too.

Girl, don't stress over this situation. You sound like you are stressed. You are in the right spot. With plenty of support. Regroup your thoughts. You already reaching out, so you are already on the right path. Chose your diet by planning your foods. Chose your workout routine by planning your days. Don't stress over quitting soda. More water you drink during your exercises, the less of the soda you will want. Trust me, you hearing this from soda junkie0

Well the fact that you're back on here is a good start. When I started this journey again (after so many failed times), soda, sweet teas and sweet drinks were my Achilles heel - I LOVED them!!! I gave them up slowly and drank more water. That was the first thing I did. Then I slowly changed up my diet. Of course, I added the gym too.
Main thing, start slow and change things up in your diet. Stay committed and motivated. If you need support, add me as a friend. And good luck, you can do this. You already proved to yourself when you did lose some weight earlier before your injury, so you can do it again!0 -
Don't feel bad, I gained back almost everything I lost in January. Tomorrow is my "start over" day too.0

how about writing down why you would like to lose the weigh, and take a few minutes to imagine how you'd feel at your goal weight.
take one day at a time. just promise yourself you will do good today, or maybe an hour at a time, and remember at roughly 4 days - 2 weeks in are usually the hardest (for me anyway), once your over them it will get easier.
looking at before and after pictures in google helped set my mind on track when i restarted. (lost a stone and a half last year & put it all back on, so your not alone).
hope that helps, i wander, what would you suggest if someone asked you the same question? :flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for all the support!
I'm not fretting about giving up soda. It's quite easy for me actually. I've just noticed that if I don't drink it, I don't crave NEAR as much. So it will be easier to get back on the horse so to speak if I just give it up. I just like it for the fizz.
I'm off today so it will be a good day to get started. First on my agenda is a trip to the grocery store to stock on my arsenal!0
