Vitatops - healthy/not healthy?

My friend suggests these are good esp when watching weight and being good. Any of you agree or disagree? Would you recommend?

I tried one once. It sucked. At 100 calories and all sugar and refined crap, just eat a cookie.

Yep... it's good I guess if you want a 'treat' in moderation. Might as well just go get a cookie though =)

They're better than the alternative, which is cookies and cakes, etc. Occasionally I think they're ok. What always kept me away from them is they have wayyy too much fiber for someone with IBS. Too much fiber has the same effect on me as not enough fiber. I don't know why these companies feel the need to pump "diet" food full of EXTRA fiber. Another marketing scheme.

Wow I thought they would help with fiber intake but I guess not. I'm guessing 1 or 2 a week is ok?

Only time I tried them was at a HungryGirl book signing party, where they were free. I think they are overpriced and have way too much sugar.

I love these for snacks. I personally only buy the chocolate ones and the banana nut ones. The other ones are ok but I prefer their chocolate products with a cup of skim milk and a yummy treat indeed!

They are worth a try and you make your own decision... Also note some of my favorite flavors are not found in the grocery stores. My favorites are the peanut butter ones, and the triple chocolate.

Yes they are processed but they are not the same as cookies since they do not have as much sugar and they have fiber too and there are a lot of good can be said about these little snacks besides them being processed. If you do not eat processed items then yes these are processed.

But if this is not a factor for you they are a great alternative for sweets which are processed also. I love these when I can afford them. I usually only buy 2 or 3 times a year when HG have them on sale.

When I have them I eat at least one every other day and no more than 2 and 2 is usually on weekends. I keep as desserts after I go out to dinner with friends to keep from buying it from the resturants. When I don't have these I like the fiber one brownies which are cheaper for sure but less nutritional value. I also like nature valley protien bars with fat free milk for late evening snack or dessert.

I haven't had the Vitatops muffins, but I've had their breakfast sandwiches and they are AWFUL. So, I can't say anything about the muffin/cookie/whatever ones, but I warn you to stay away from their breakfast sandwiches. Yucckkk.
