Pavlov's dogs

Do you remember learning about Pavlov's experiments with dogs? Every time he rang a bell he would feed the dogs. After they learned that a bell noise meant food he stopped giving it to them. The dogs were conditioned to start drooling when they heard the bell because they expected food.

My boyfriend spends too much time on the Xbox. Our dog just stepped on a controller that he left out. This causes the whole system to turn on. I have to turn the TV on to shut it down. When the dog heard the jingle that plays as it shuts down she ran to the front door. Why? He always shuts it down right before work or bed then takes her out. She thinks thats her signal that we are going for a walk.
