Tingely foot

Just over a week ago I did some exercise that required a short spell of running on dry, hard ground. All that was no problem but later that evening, I noticed one of my feet had a tingling sensation. And has done ever since. It is on the same side as my bad arthiritic knee. I went to my GP on Thursday who said it might be just a bit of pressure and it should go away. I still have it and after doing a little research I am wondering if it the begining of Tarsal Tunnel. I still walk as there is no pain. Has anyone had this and what were your experiences with it? I am not sure where to go from here with it.

it hasn't been that long. if it persists then go to the doctor. if it doesn't then problem solved.

So maybe just needs more time? As I am not in any pain I still walk although I have cut the walking back a little. I have been walking everyday since Oct last year and this is the first time I have had any problem with my foot/feet. I have good walking shoes.

I think I have Tarsal Tunnel. in both of my feet and I'm going to the doctor this week. I do TONS of climbing...stairmaster..mountain climbing and running....just keep your work outs light.

Are your feet painful? Mine aren't but it is just a weird sensation. No loss of sensation, just more sensitive.

You may want to check and make sure that you are using a decent pair of shoes. Tennis/cross training shoes are generally only good for 300 miles or 100 hours of cardio exercise. Also make sure that the pair you are buying are easy onyour feet even though they may not be on the wallet.
  • I use to get this sensation a while back when I first introduced myself to exercising. It was like my foot was falling asleep during my walks/jogs.. I read up on it and brought it to my doctor... The doctor said it might have something to do with a disk in my back, but as far as I know now the sensation is gone. It might have something to do with climate and the only other suggestion I heard was to make sure your shoe isn't tied too tight.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your input. I think I may have worn out one of my favourite pairs of walking shoes (they are x-trainers) and they were the ones I was wearing the day I started have the problem. Hopefully cutting back on the walking a little (I feel too guilty if I dont any at all) and wearing new shoes will help the problem subside.
