    Only if you use/need them obsessively, particularly in your sex life. Otherwise, I'd call it a "turn on" or preference. I think lots of people play with "fetishy" things, but true fetishists are less common.

    In the alternative lifestyle community, the word is used with a bit more leeway. It's used in reference to objects or ideas that excite sexually and add to the sexual pleasure or thrill. It doesn't necessarily require that the object or idea or action be a NEED.
