Are you working hard but not losing weight?

I've been losing weight steadily since Jan 1, 2013 [176 to 166 lbs], and suddenly this week I didn't. I went down to 165, but then went back up to 166 by the end of the week. This was also my first full week on mfp and my first week really ramping up the exercise.
I would have been very upset, except that I saw something on youtube 2 weeks ago about taking your picture (in lieu of weighing yourself) so I started taking pictures last week in addition to weighing myself.
I compared my pictures from 2/12/13 to my pictures yesterday, and, while still mostly exactly the same, I can tell that the slope at the top of my stomach comes down a bit more than it did before! It's subtle, but it definitely confirmed that I'm on the right track and that I can just ignore weight not dropping off.
Also, if you look at some of the success stores, people will write about 8-10 pound losses over 4-12 months, but their bodies will look so different. So I'm not going to worry about my non-loss on the scale this week ----> I'll just keeping taking pictures!
[but I'll probably keep weighing myself every day for now because I'm not ready to let it go yet. I may work on backing down the frequency.]

I love light bulb moments!
Keep doing what you're doing and eventually the number on the scale will reflect the progress. And try to put more emphasis on how you FEEL and what your clothes fit like. Those are the true measures of your success!0
