So I put in NY strip steak..whenever i went to a resturaunt I would get the bigguns....which was 16 oz ...2.5 oz was 150 cals...so that was pretty much 1000 cals in just steak...not to mention the bowl (not cup) bowl of clam chowder...I'd hate to see how much that creamy butter goodness equals to (prob another 1000 w/ the 4 packages of oyster crackers)...and i would usually get an order of mozz sticks to share with the ex, which 8 = 950 cals on avg thats another 475....andddd the french fries....lets just assume low lol imma say 300 ....oh yea and the 3 cokes to go with it...assuming low again (since they were rather large lol) im just gonna say 400...oh yea and the 2 rolls before that with a package of butter each...lets just say 250 (and thats being generous too lol) so with probably lower cal counts lol ...before in one sitting I would eat 3425 calories :noway:  ....now i couldnt even imagine eating that in a day...In fact i usually only eat meals between 200-300 cals.....i was thinking about that and how fast food cals can add up when u dont pay attention ....now that i'm lookin back my daily cal intake was horrible! I'm surprised i hadnt gained more than i did

another day in the life of Diana's old eating habits 1 Bigmac Meal Large w/ a coke...1 10 piece nugget meal Large w/ a sprite...a 10 piece nugget on the and 4 packets of bbq sauce to go with the fries and nuggets...That I dont even want to know the cal count to lol

I feel the same way when I look back. I used to always get a Turkey Melt at Steak N Shake until I joined weight watchers a couple years ago and the one sandwich was my whole points for one whole day. I thought....holy cow no way it's turkey but it is so bad!
Good job on the life style change. It's hard but so worth it. I feel so much better just 14 pounds down!

Your so right! Those calories sneak up on you! A few months ago we were at costco and hubby got me a turkey wrap thinking that was a good choice. It was large, so I split it with him. When I got home and logged it I was SHCOKED to find it was over 800 calories for ONE wrap. I wish places would post the nutritional info on the menu! (not on line!) I also wish they would either serve the correct portion or at least tell us that hey 16oz of steak is 4 servings! WTG on changing your eating habits and portions.

when I first started back watching portion size I had to measure for a while because I forgot what an actual 1/2 cup of something was. I still occasionally measure to keep it right but eyeball a lot too. That first meal you described did sound ginormous!!!! Kudos to you for the positive changes you are making

I always cook enough for an army (even to much for healthy food) and we are throwing a lot of leftovers out so I am trying to cut back on how much we make. It should help on the grocery bill too.

    Keep up the great work
