OK here I go... first post so go easy on me lol. Should I:

1. Give up wine; and
2. Try intermittent fasting like 5:2???????????????????????

I am finding MFP truly amazing but the weight loss is pretty slow and wine seems to be the main trigger for going over calories, making poor choices and ‘forgetting’ to exercise!

Also interested to hear from any intermittent fasters. I have the book, but am scared to take the plunge – do you think I will implode if I get humgry :noway: :noway: …….

losing weight is all about CALORIES as long as you in a deficit by the end of the day/week/month u will lose weight . doesnt matter how u got to that deficit . IF is a waste of time but thats just my opinion .

IF works for some and sometimes it doesn't. You don't have to do IF to lose body fat. Wine is not bad if you control it. If you have it everyday, not too bad either. But again, are we talking one glass or a bottle a day?

Usualy only drink wine at the weekend but the last 2 weeks there has been stuff on and it might be half a bottle a day - far too much. It makes me lazy and want to eat crap!!!

I would say you don't really need to do something as drastic as 5:2 or cutting out wine ....

But tone it down a little ... well a lot actually. 1/2 a bottle a day is a LOT! Small pleasures ... that or work off 1000 cals / day so you can drink.

Personally that's why I work out ... or part of my motivation at least :P

I like wine, but I prefer to have it with a healthy, hearty dinner. The food I'm eating fills me up so I won't eat junk later, and it's the end of the day so it doesn't matter if I veg out in front of the TV afterwards.
