Just yesterday I did the Fight for Air Climb for the American Lung Association. It was actually in the building I work in so I kind of knew what I was getting myself into because I knew what the stairs were like, etc. but I had NO idea how tough it would be!

I trained for weeks (LOT of leg days) and it was still incredibly hard. My legs were totally prepared but my lungs, no way. They weren't lying when they named it "Fight for Air." It feels like your chest has a rock in it, so hard to breathe when going up that quickly.

With that all said, I finished 45 flights of stairs (804 steps total) in 12 minutes! I'm so proud of myself and fully motivate everyone else out there to take the stairs when you can! It gets your heart rate up so quickly and is so much better for you than the elevator!

I know they do these races/climbs in a lot of different cities, so look for one near you!

:drinker: Congratulatoins...I'm doing the Detroit climb on Sunday..70 flights, 1035 steps (this is my second year). Last year I did it in 18 minutes, and hope to improve that since I stopped a couple of times when I didn't need to, but my friend was struggling and I didn't want to ditch her...

Its a GREAT cause, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the energy at this event is just incredible!!
