To eat Back calories burned Or NOT?!?!

I need help! I am so confused and am not sure how much I should be eating.

I hear so much conficting information, I am not sure who or what to believe.
AT my weigh in at the gym, I didn't lose any weight. My trainer suggested that I cut my caloric intake from 1500/1600 calories a day to 1400 or so..this doesn't seem right to me. AM I wrong?

I would love to take advice from people who are actually seeing results with their eating habits.

I am 5'9, 180 lbs. I work out around 5-6 days a week, and my workouts consist of Cardio 2-3 days a week, and resistance Training 3-4 days a week

Right now, I am not eating back all of my calories because I am afraid that consuming all of them will make me gain weight. Is this wrong?

Is there anyone out there that is in the same boat as me that can give me some advice that has worked for them???
