    Squats below or to parallel, dead lifts, barbell hip thrusts...patience & persistence!

    Squats (weighted) and deadlifts! My husband just saidI had the butt of a 20 year old. ;)

    Somebody mentioned stairs as an alternative to squats, since you don't like them. Running stairs builds strength and I'll bet it would shape your butt.
    Bicycle riding too builds strength, and so probably tones significantly too.
    You could also do box jumps.

    I do pilates and I have a butt you can bounce a quarter off of. Google butt pilates workouts.
