Hi, i have a new goal of complex carbohydrates and i was shopping for whole grain bread and found that there are many many options.

Can any one recomend a good complex carb bread with a low GI (Glycemic Index)

Check out sprouted grain options. They aren't going to have the same texture as the typical bread you might be used to, but if you like heavy, nutty-tasting breads, they are a low GI option.

The most low GI breads are just good stoneground wholemeal.Look to make sure there are no added sugars.I love Rye breads too which are better than eating wheat all the time.I also recommend having protien sandwich fillings as they will balance the relatively high GI of the bread!

As far as brands, Ezekiel is a pretty well-known sprouted grain brand. They are typically found in the freezer section and not by the rest of the bread.

For non-sprouted grain options, I've really liked Brownberry Health Nut bread.
