Tools for fitness/weightloss

I have only been exercising/logging food for about 3 months now but I am pretty sure I would like a more accurate count of my calories burned. I would appreciate suggestions on the proper, most usable tool to do this for ME. I need to burn fat and get fit. I do NOT have an I-phone, would either be getting the data from a computer or on the screen provided. I need something easy to use (not real techy here). I have considered the Body Fit Media Core with display and the Polar FT7 but keep gettng confused. I am open to other options for sure. THanks!

Cardio equipment has advanced pretty well in getting decent readouts in their algorithms versus work done by you on the machine. However, it's still not going to be 100% accurate since it's a theoretical result and the work you put into it is all relative.
You mentioned have a HRM that will help keep up with calorie usage during the day doing tasks. It's going to be more accurate than a machine (most of the time in ideal situations) since it's a constant readout of your heart beat. BUT, even THAT can be innaccurate in the long run.
Expect to keep tolerances on your activity to be +/- a percentage that a machine or HRM or other piece of tech spits back at you. I would keep up with logging the numbers that you receive from working out on the equipment/HRM and don't sweat the small stuff.0 -
I have a polar ft4 and LOVE it.0

The only equipment I have that gives me a calorie readout is my elliptical - everything else comes from MFP.0

I will look into the FT4. Why do you love it? Have you used others?0

Your HRM will give you an estimation of calories burned during general exercise away from equipment based on your activity level.
Edit: I guess you said you were looking into HRMs. My bad :drinker:0 -
I purchased a Polar FT7 a month ago and it is fantastic. Makes me work harder and the calories burnt is an eye opener for the better0

Do the Polor products download to MFP or do you manually enter your workout burn?0

I just bought the ft7 today for 74.99 from bodytronics.com If you plan on buying 1 from there it is free shipping and use coupon code POPO for 5% off0
