Starting p90x tonight!

I will still go to the gym 5 times a week and do some cardio on the elliptical- but did anyone do p90x and notice loss of inches and gain in muscle? I do not want to waste my time on a potentially phony system and not see results.

P.S.
Women (or men): I have 3, 5, and 8 pound weights. Is that sufficient for p90x? Or will I eventually need to step it up to 10?
