Strength Training question from a newbie

Hey everyone, So.. I know that to tone up while losing weight it is important to do strength training aswell as cardio BUT.. I only have 2 small weight's and can not join a gym at this time.. I was wondering since I was just sort of starting out if the 30 Day Shred would be enough of a strength exercise for now?? I know it's not the same as weight training but if I use that 3 maybe 4 times a week along side my cardio workout's for now will that be ok??

I know eventually I will have to do more but yea, for now that's the best I can do :blushing:

Also I have done it before so I know how intense it can be, especially for someone as unfit as me so it will def be pushing me.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this seem's like a silly question but I really don't know :blushing:

Not a silly question at all! 30 Day Shred includes cardio and strength, so is (in my opinion) a great option.

I occasionally do 30DS but now prefer to run three times a week (using the C25K programme) followed by this simple routine: http://produmbbellworkouts.com/dumbbell-routines/full-body-high-volume/

All you need is a couple of dumbbells and in the space of a month I'm already getting good results. Might be worth considering if (like me) you get bored with 30DS.

not familar with 30 day shred...

You could incorporate some body weight stuff...jump squats, push ups, pull ups etc...

can you afford bow flex select tech dumbbells they are adjustable weights that go up to 50 pounds or 100 depending on which set you get...

    Google body weight exercises.

    30DS is a cardio routine.

Thanks f everyone for your replies :) I will maybe do 30ds twice a week along with my usual cardio and then 2 days a week I will do the body weight exercises you have recommended and work from there :) Thanks again, you're all awesome

I wouldnt stress too much. Everyone has to start somewhere, and those Jillian Michaels DVD's are not easy by a long shot.
    Just go for it!!!
