Hi my name is Scott and I'm new the site and I used to be really involved in sports and now it seems that all I do is work. I really want to get back into lifting weights and being more active instead of being bored when I'm not working.

It is a real challenge for me gain weight, my metabolism is ridiculous and I feel like I'm starving all the time and when I do eat, I can really put some food away. I'm 27, 145lbs and 5'9 and I would love to put on some muscle mass. I'm not completely sure how to go about it. I have tried some programs in the past but when I have an off day I get discouraged and don't stay committed to the work outs. I would like friends who could encourage me to stick with it and ideas on high calorie nutritious foods. I go long periods without eating because I work and then I binge on sweets a lot so even just reminding myself to eat every few hours is going to be hard for me lol I am also interested in different types of work out programs for building muscle. If anyone has any ideas on what programs I should try please reply. Basically I need all the help and advice I can get and all friend requests are welcome :)

Best thing I could suggest is making a friend at the gym. It has really helped me stay focused and push harder in the last few weeks. I partnered up with a guy that lifts much more than i do but its made me work harder to keep up with him and Ive seen some real strength gains in the last 3 weeks alone!
Fell free to add me :)

In your case eating high calorie foods may be your best option.. Not just high calorie though... High quality/high calorie foods. Plenty of carbs and protein with good fats. Protein shakes. Some are built for weight loss. You want one that has a high calric benefit. Best wishes on achieving your goals.
