Hi there, as a seemingly long term dieter (but more of a long term overeater) I have decided to try the 2 day diet, this is day 1.
For those who don't know, you basically eat for 2 non consecutive days a week just 500 calories (for women) or 600 calories (for men) on the other days you eat normally (ie 2000 cals for women or 2500 for men).
It appears in studies to be more successful that being on a continuous 1500 calorie a day diet, and also appears to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
Has anyone else tried and succeeded, or failed. Can you share your experiences?
Thanks.x

I'm no expert at all, but I believe this falls under the topic of intermittent fasting. I have heard things in terms of longer life span and weight loss results but perhaps do a search? I couldn't do it.0

It sounds great on paper, but I could never, ever do it. I know for a fact that the low days would set me up for a major binge the following day and I'd spend the entire day focusing on food! Also, being in college would be torture...everybody would be so judgmental if I sat there with black coffees for most of the day & I'd be salivating over their lunches LOL.
A steady 1700 calorie a day diet and consistent activity is what worked for me. Much easier.0 -
This is a 5:2 "Eat, Stop, Eat" method of intermittent fasting. If you want to know more, visit the IF forum and read Brad Pilons Book0

I did a 3 day diet once for a month. HATED it and NEVER again. My head hurt for most of the day on those low calorie meals and I was only allowed water during the day, and unsweetened tea. No snacking and small as heck portions. It's just not healthy in the long run.0
