Summer time will be here before we know it. In a month I'm going bathing suit shopping. I'm in decent shape (not perfect), but close to goal, and with a little toning over the next couple of months, I'll be modestly beach worthy for a 30 year old. The question to put to my fellow MFPers is this: Is a bikini off limits to a post-baby body?

I'm on the fence, I think I'll make the decision based on how I feel when I try it on. But I've asked friends and there are definitely different opinions. What are yours??

    I haven't bought or worn a bikini in years...but this year after busting my butt to lose weight and get in shape, I sucked up the courage to buy one (profile pic). It was a little scary at first, but mostly? It felt great to put it on, look in the mirror, and acknowledge that I've had children, I am turning 40 this summer, and I can still hold my own at the beach. :flowerforyou:

    "off limits"? no not at all. Totally a personal choice. I've been tempted to get a one piece, as I'm 34 and kind of think that nobody wants to see that.

    But truthfully, I think a majority of people have no issue seeing an above 30 yr old woman in a Bikini.

    Think of Christie Brinkley, heck people would still look at that. Or Cindy Crawford.

    The only rules are the ones you impose on yourself. Just wear it with class and confidence.

    I wear whatever I want, and my body is far from perfect. I just don't hate myself for it. I have every intention of enjoying my summer in a swimsuit, and I don't care who vomits when they look at me.

    On the beach where I'm living right now, I see 50-60 year olds rocking bikinis. If you have the body, then wear the suit.

    I love my croc flip flops. If it's wrong to wear crocs, then I'm gonna love being wrong :drinker:
