Question about clean eating resource

I was looking into many clean eating resources online and one that i was reading, she was into protein shakes. Now tell me how that a protein shake falls into that catagory of clean eating. So does that mean that the rest of her ideas were full of phooey???
I understand the basic concept of whole food items and the fewer ingredients with names you can say, got it. Just not sure that by reading more resources I am making it more complicated than it needs to be. Thanks

Clean eating generally refers to foods that are nutrient dense with little added fat, sugar and refined carbohydrates. A protein shake, well some, would be classified as clean. Others have definitions that would exclude protein shakes because their processed, others would say that protein shakes made from dairy is unclean.............There's no clear definition of clean and is an individual decision based on their beliefs. For example vegan or paleo would have totally different views and neither would be wrong as far as they were concerned.0
