In the context of "I'm on a diet" I mean. Your diet is what you eat, but going on a "diet" just makes my skin crawl.

Remember, the body doesn't like change, and like a vindictive child, will attempt to snap back to it's former habits after a wild change in eating.

DIETS DON'T WORK. this is a proven fact, the subject of uncountable studies done by well respected scientific institutions all over the world. I don't care if it's a liquid diet, a low calorie diet, or some nutrient restriction diet (I.E. no carb diet...etc.), or some kind of weird "enima" type diet (this one I find particularly amusing, I mean, what do you think happens as soon as you are done? Your body will just start putting the waste right back to the same spot it was before).
Changing your eating style permenantly works, I.E. eating less carbs because you were eating too many to begin with, well that's fine, but suddenly dropping your calories off drastically (as an example) for a month to "fit into that bikini"(granted, no personal exerience here) will ethier cause you to regain all the weight (plus some) after, or cause you to fail completely by binging when you become despondent.
Your body is like an old man, it doesn't like change, and can be nasty when it doesn't get what it wants. Change your habits consistantly, slowly, and permenantly if you want to see lasting results!

*sigh* ahh zm, aren't we all just a little bit of an old man inside? Especially when we see that little 16 year old who has a BMI of like 21 eating a double whopper with king size french fries. I know my brain is thinking "Damn Kids!" LOL! Right before I think "boy, that double whopper sure looks better then my grilled chicken garden salad with 1/2 a packet of dressing". :explode:

(channeling my cranky old grandpa. . .God rest him!)

Back in my day we had to get up off the couch to change the channel on the T.V. - and we only had 3 channels!
