I do not have any experience with polio, but I can tell you that I have had fibromyalgia since I was very young. It runs in my family-- all of the females on my mother's side have had it for at least 3 generations that I know of.

As much as it hurts to get up and move every morning, and anytime I stop moving, I know that not only is it the best thing for me to keep moving and exercise but that in the end I will feel better. I see a marked improvement everyday that I exercise...and a big step backward the next morning of any day that I don't. If I haven't moved the day before I know that I will be hurting twice as much when the day begins.

All I can say is, find what works for you and keep at it-- even if it means experimenting with different foods, exercises and activities that might normally be out of your comfort zone!

Thank you. I know that you are totally right about exercise. After three months of physical therapy and strain counterstrain, I feel much better. When I don't stretch, I know that I will hurt. Just need a little nudge once in a while to do so.

ok...I admit to humongeous curiosity here.....WHERE did you contract polio???
  • Hi! I don't have any experience with polio but I have had fibromyalgia since birth. I also have rheumatoid arthritis, I was diagnosed with RA when I was 20. I try to exercise as much as I can, but am limited to what I can do.
