Lacking motivation

I have found myself recently majorly lacking motivation. Not wanting to eat healthy, not wanting to workout, nothing. Just exhausted all the time.

Here's a little background info for you. I am a full time teacher and also work part time doing Mary Kay. I have a very very active 15 month old and I am married. I was doing great for a while. I did weight watchers and lost 12 pounds. I don't have a ton to lose..I'd like to tone up and lose another...10-15 pounds. BUT...I am just so apathetic lately...

I dont' know what to do about it!!!
Help?

I am in the same boat with you. By the time I get off work at 5, pick up my 11 month old, fight Houston traffic to get home, I would rather eat something fast and unhealthy (if I have the time to eat at all) before I am attacked by a hungry, tired, and teething baby boy. But I still have to make dinner for my husband anyways so I try to make it health enough for the both of us. The only time I have found to exercise is after I have gotten my hellion to bed, and even then its just the workout videos that we have for free from our on demand cable. It is difficult, and I have no words of wisdom. I wish I could help
  • Revisit the reasons you started in the first place.

Also, odd question, do you live in an area without a lot of sun this time of year? If so, you might consider a Vit D supplement. Low energy often coincides with Vit D levels. Might just give you the boost you need. :)

Maybe going on maintenance level for a week or two would help? I'm a newbie, so maybe doing this is a MFP sin, but you've done so well it would be a shame to quit now.

Apathy can be triggered by stress -- teaching fulltime, owning your own business, running a home and raising a child is a lot, but not impossible. I'm finishing my doctorate, teaching one graduate class, taking another, working more than fulltime and trying to be husband and Dad of the year, too. It can get tough.

SO -- here's the Dad in me talking --- (insert your eye roll here) -- "buck up! You didn't do all that work to just give in now! Take a break, but one where you still track food and walk daily. Eat a real ice cream cone. Make it one small one every day. Then, no later than the first of March, get back on the wagon with no weight gain (and no loss), a new outlook, and some ice cream stains on your shirt!" :)

    Have a nice day!
