need some clarification and dieting tips.....

Ok, so I need a lil clarification or maybe just someone to say..."yeah, that's right!" so I'll quit trying to rationalize it. I keep seeing and hearing how you should "eat all your calories/ points" (I'm doing weight watchers) in order to lose your weight and see results. I understand that eating small meals or snacking (healthy snacks) will help boost your metabolism, but it just seems to make more sense that the fewer calories you eat and the more you burn, the more likely you are to lose that weight. I've also had trouble with eating my exercise calories. Again, I feel like if I exercise and then turn around and eat the calories that I burned, then I'm being counter-productive. Someone set the record straight for me, please!
Also, I've been told both ways....calories are calories, regardless of when (what time) you eat them AND not to eat past particular times. Which is correct??????? I just need to get this thing kicked into high gear already! thanks in advance!!!

So, everyone coming to this thread, go to the blue link above that says this topic -- you will find the discussion on this message banks wrote:Wow, look at all the new faces! Welcome all of you guys that have joined up in the last few days and weeks. I guess it really is true what they say about new diets starting in the spring (although we don't call it dieting, we call it a lifestyle change)
Anyway, don't get me wrong, I don't mean Newbie in the derrogatory sense, we are delighted that you have decided that MFP is a good place to start your journey (or continue it!). Over the past 6 or 8 months some of us have put out some great, informative posts that have helped many on MFP. I hope you will take a few minutes and read them, they can be very informative and may head off some questions you ask before you ask em.
