Am I justifying?

I've been at the same weight for about 2 months. I honestly know I'm not as careful as I was for the first 5 months during which time I lost 50 lbs. I don't want to justify and say, I'm on a plateau or it is winter or whatever, but I also don't want to be too hard on myself. I've historically been an all or nothing person in most things, including healthy eating so one of the things I'm trying to learn is that I don't have to be perfect with everything from weight loss to cleaning my house. So with all that being said, I welcome any words of wisdom to encourage me through this time of what I think is probably the winter blaas. The first 50 lbs felt like they just fell off and it was nice weather and I was able to ride my bike every day, now the weather is cold and icky and I just want to hibernate, but I also don't want to loose sight of my goal of another 50 lbs. Thanks in advance glasses:

  • The first 50 statistically are always the easiest...after that the real work begins. After being stalled for 6 months I hired myself a personal trainer. It is the best investment I have ever made in myself. He helps me with my diet, he's my therapist, and most of all he pushes me out of my comfort zone when working out :)

First off, congrats on your first 50! That's a great start!

Second, I really don't have many words of wisdom because I too am having a hard time staying motivated in the winter. I don't eat bad, but I eat too much. I have no willpower to work out because my "gym" is outside and who wants to bother with winter in Ohio. I refuse to join a gym because in the past I would, use it for a few months and get tired of it. I've decided what I need to do is try on my summer clothes, after months of covering up, shorts and tanks are kinda scary!

I'd say for now maybe purchase some workout DVD's - I recommend 30 Day Shred - tough but quick and very effective. The weather is on the up swing, spring, I swear is just around the corner.

I am right there with you. I don't want to go out in the cold to run/ walk. All I want to do is stay inside and snuggle up under a blanket and read. All I can say is don't give up. Keep trying to eat right, and get some form of exercise in. Maybe play the wii or xbox kinect (if you have one). Otherwise look up exercises you can do in the house on youtube, or go get some DVDs that you can do in the comfort of your living room. (I am taking my own advice, btw  ) You can keep going with this and continue your progress!
