Hi, I recently downloaded myfitnesspal for iPhone, and am learning my way around the database. As a snack today, I plan to eat some freash blueberries that I purchased at Publix ( a local supermarket chain). When I searched for the calorie count doe fresh lueberries, however, the the database has different entries for fresh lue berries - with different calorie conts ( even after adjusting for serving size). For example, The following link is a list of caries counts for various "blueberry" related items:

For example -
--Fresh fruit (Blueberries)
--Blueberries -Fresh (Driscoll)
--Publix brand (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/fruit-sunnyridge-blueberries-fesh-from-publix-11417327)
Each seem to have different calorie counts.
Shouldn't fresh blueberries be the same regardless?

Search for "USDA Blueberries" for the best results. Package labels can vary for any number of reasons. This is a common issue with the database.0

Also, ignore measurements like one cup or handful or whatever craziness. Invest in a food scale and weigh everything. I even weigh out my olive oil.
Read this post for why:

And in the comments you'll find a link to this video as an example:

also, if you search for "blueberry raw" and find the entry without and asterisk (*) next to it - thats an MFP entry instead of a user entry, so theyre more accurate and on track more with the USDA info. they also give more options in the "serving size" catagories, so if you happen to not have a scale handy you can enter it by cups/pints/number of berries/weight, etc - and not just for blueberries, all produce and meats. just be sure to enter "raw" after the food..
even some dairy things, like milk and butter - though for those i just search "butter salted" and "milk whole" etc0
