What is the real deal with what NOT to eat??

Fellow Fitnesspals... So it seems that many things now days that were SUPPOSED to be good for you to eat are no longer good? Like bananas or whole wheat bread? I'm very curious to know what your take(s) are out in the community on what is good and what is not. I know that anything in moderation is ok, but my family and I are trying to really have a healthy eating lifestyle and we are on the right track, just need some tweaks. Thanks in advance for all the advice guys!
