I am ready for some changes.....

Hey out there! I have been working on this whole lifestyle change for better health and well being for several years now..... And I've hit a plateau that I can't seem to break. I started at 275ish and I am down to 210-212 depending on the day of the week and how friendly the scales are feeling that day. My ultimate goal is 145 but hey, right now, I'd just love to get below 200 and stay there.... Progress so far:
Keeping food journal - been doing on paper because no smart phone
Exercise - shooting for 5 days a week but haven't been very consistent yet.... When I do get on the treadmill though, it is for 45 minutes averaging 3-3.5 mph on an incline.
I need someone to help kick my tush into gear - my husband tries but he is almost addicted to working out so for him it is second nature. He doesn't understand the need for a push.... So, help! please:smile:

Maybe try some other exercises you enjoy? Sometimes changing it up makes it more fun. Also, look for inspirational photos/quotes to repeat to youself as a daily mantra: "I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday"- my personal fav.
Or as soon as you wake up, think about what you hope to accomplish for the day and picture yourself doing it. I like to imagine the treadmill showing 400 calories burned in those big red numbers!

Hi- have you ever tried Zumba...by about my 4th class I was hooked and that was over 2 years ago. I may not be the most graceful person in the class, but I adore it....many times I literally crave going to a class.

Give it a try and don't worry about not getting all the "moves" at first-no one does- the music is upbeat and energizing. I do it 4 times a week.

Now all I need to do is add in weight training- now that is a huge "Yuck" for me...but I am hoping it will jump start my weight loss. I am currently trying to lose the 20 pounds I lost last February (2012) and then proceeded to gain back.

Hang in there and give Zumba a try

add me a s a friend if you like.
  • I agree, you have to find something that you like to do....I also just started Zumba, but for right now I am doing it in my basement....I am not very graceful....but it is FUN and you sweat.
I also just got the Jazzercise Burlesque DVD and that one is pretty fun too....kinda sexy :)

I have an area set up in my basement and that is where I work out...in private...because it works for me as opposed to going to the Y. Everytime I head down there....I think of the fat that I LEAVE down there.....hope to one day find my thighs and stomach fat lingering in the corner.....LOL

My husband has NEVER had a weight issue and can eat anything and as much as he wants....so although he is "supportive"...I don't think he really gets just how hard this is.

Feel free to add me as a friend...I will keep on you if you slack and I hope you do the same for me.....

"Do today what others wont so you can do tomorrow what others cant"....one of my faves...........
