Walking in the sand...

Right now the only real form of exercise I can get is walking in the sand. There is a gym near my house but it isn't air conditioned, so I might go there on a rainy day for some weight lifting.

I forgot my heart rate monitor, of course, and I have no idea how many calories I am burning, of course here on mfp there is no calculation for walking in the sand.

Anyone have any idea of something comparable I could use to calculate calories burned, or another method (website) that would have something comparable....

Much appreciated!

I might try "hiking" in mfp, or use an old calculation from your HRM to estimate how many calories you burned.

I don't have any calculations from my heart rate monitor from walking in the sand unfortunately. I can't even find any posts on this under search ( none that are helpful) I guess I will keep searching the internet, unfortunately every calculator I have found doesn't take into account age ect.... I would buy a heart rate monitor here but it's probably so much money, if you could even find it...
  • With a lot of parameters missing I would just enter the calories number that made me feel good and call it a day!

Just log it as whatever speed you think you were walking about, and count any extra calories burned thanks to the sand as a bonus.
