Been looking around the site, trying to figure out how it works. I guess I should start here.

Hi everybody. I'm Robin. I'm 49, and weigh nearly 300 pounds. I've never truly dieted, at least never for more than a few days. I think I stayed on Atkins for about 2 or 3 weeks before giving up; but the point is, I've never yo-yo'd, only gone up (and up and up.)

I've now hit that Health issue problem, and need to actually commit to doing this for the first real time in my life.

I'm hopeful it works.

Hi Robin. This is a great place to start! If you follow the MFP goals and have support from others, it should work! This is the first time in my life I've been successful with weight loss.

Hi Robin!! Welcome to MFP!! This is the best site out there. I researched them all. I have 3 suggestions for you. Drink plenty of water, write everything down and exercise. Even if it is only 10 minutes a day. It can be anything. Walking, vaccuuming or gardening. Just get moving. Oh yeah and don't deprive yourself of foods. There are some foods your body needs, just in moderation.

    Good luck!!!
