A NSV for this Army mom

So, today, I had a NSV which, albeit a little weird, meant so much to me that I wanted to share. I was able to listen, all the way to the end, to Lee Brice`s song "I Drive Your Truck". You see, my older son is now on his 4th deployment and every time he leaves, it means a period of anxiousness, fear from deep inside and lots of sleepless nights, for all of us. Every deployment is marked by a song that we suddenly start hearing over and over that expresses our feelings, not to mention it`s usually about soldiers. I usually have to turn the radio off because the song brings to surface all that I hide. This deployment, " I Drive Your Truck" is especially poignant in that my younger son does exactly this-drives his truck when he needs to feel his brother. My Army son has a beloved Chevy Duramax-lifted, stacked, and twin turbo`d- and driving his truck is what we do when we are missing him too much. I have yet to make it through that song without tears and I have to turn it off. Neither of my sons, including my soldier, can listen to it at all. Until today :) I made it through without tears, just choked up a bit. I feel better, I can go the distance....again. Thanks for listening.

Good to read, it is healing to be able to do it and remember the good times, instead of sadness!!
May God give him a safe road home so he can Drive His Truck1

Bless your heart! I can't imagine what you and your family feel and go through having a loved one deployed. I live in an area where I meet many military families and hear of their struggles. All I can say is THANK YOU to your son and all those sacrificing all for us. I pray that he comes home safe and sound and soon. God Bless!

:) Congrats. My husband's first deployment, "Love Me When I'm Gone" was all over the radio, and every single time I would start sobbing uncontrollably. I wound up only listening to CD's by the end of the 15 months we were apart, so I commend you on your strength to hear it at all, and hope for his safe return. :)
